ANNOUNCEMENTS
Our CHRISTIAN SYMPATHY is extended to the family and friends of Ann
Matthews who died Tuesday, August 14. Her funeral service will be at the
Sadler-Suess Funeral Home on Saturday August 18th at 11:00 a.m.
Calling hours are Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

SUMMER PLAYGROUP. We’re going to the ELMWOOD ZOO on Friday, August 24th. The zoo opens at
10:00 a.m., so we’ll meet at the entrance a little before that time. Bring a
lunch and we’ll extend the fun. There is a sign-up sheet in the gathering
space. In case of rain, we’ll have activities in the church fellowship hall.

BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS, Sunday, August 26, 9:15 and 10:30 a.m.
In preparation for going
back to school, students are invited to bring backpacks, lunchboxes, pencil
boxes, calculators or similar items. Teachers in the congregation are invited
to bring their grade books. Others who work in our schools are invited to bring
a tool or item that they use in their vocation at the school.
